Las Vegas Election Worker Says Man Assaulted Her, Authorities Investigating

A woman who’s employed as a temporary election worker was allegedly assaulted recently while she was waiting for a bus in Las Vegas.

The victim, identified as Brandi Lapriore, said she suffered injuries after the assailant her in the face and stepped on her knee. The incident took place at a bus stop on Eastern Avenue on October 26.

Her report is being investigated by both officials and the Nevada Secretary of State’s office, as well as the (LVMPD), according to Las Vegas TV station KLAS.

We can confirm that an incident did occur regarding a temporary election worker at a bus stop,” an unnamed Clark County official said in a statement to KLAS on Monday. “We are still looking into this isolated incident.”

The incident began when the man asked Lapriore when the bus was arriving.

She had on an orange a T-shirt which said, “Don’t lose your voice. Vote!” The man turned the subject to the race for president.

“‘Did you see the podcast with Joe Rogan and Donald Trump,’” the man asked Lapriore, KLAS reported. She responded no. She was “‘not interested.’”

She explained to him, “‘I don’t even talk about politics at work. It’s not something that we discuss.’”

Then, the man repeatedly asked her about the US Constitution. She asked the man to stop bothering her, which led to the assault.

He … walked towards me and chest bumped me, and then he started just punching me, just punched me in the face twice, and then I hit the ground and he stepped on my knee,” Lapriore revealed to KLAS.

When a bus arrived, the suspect got on the vehicle. Lapriore then alerted the LVMPD. An officer responded and told her the man claimed she assaulted him, Lapriore told KLAS.

The man was a stranger before the attack. “I’ve never seen him before. I haven’t seen him since,” Lapriore said.

Under a recent law, it’s a felony to “attack, threaten or intimidate an election worker,” KLAS reported.

Since the incident, the victim bought an electric bike and is no longer riding the bus.

I hope he does have some consequences that he will have to face,” Lapriore said in the interview.

Among the races to be decided on Tuesday, Election Day, is the contest for president, with the two leading candidates being former President and Vice President .
